What is Freemasonry?
 
Masonry is the oldest  fraternity in the world. It arose from the guilds of stonemasons who
built castles and cathedrals in the Middle Ages. Someone has written that Freemasonry is
honesty in business,fairness in work and courtesy in society.

Is Masonry a secret society?
Masonry is not a secret society. Masons do not make a secret of the fact that they are
members of the fraternity. They wear rings, lapel pins, tie tacks with the masonic symbols
on them. They even have either a Masonic license plate or a Masonic emblem on their cars.

How do I become a Mason?
No one is ever invited to become a Mason or to join a lodge. The man must himself  first ask
a Mason about  becoming a Mason. An application will then be given to him. The application
must be signed by two Masons who can vouch for the character of the man. The application
is then presented to the lodge and voted on. There has to be a unanimous ballot of the
lodge members.

Is Masonry a religion?
The answer to this question is NO.
Masonry uses rituals in the meetings, there is always an alter with the Volume of the Sacred
Law open if the lodge is meeting. A man who wants to become a Mason must have a belief
in God.
